Love Note poster draft with new logo

This is to give an idea of what I hope my poster to look similar to.
I might make further changes to the logo and it's placement once I've taken the photos.

I do plan to have each individual wear a period costume so to demonstrate the many years this notebook has lasted.

Drafting developed Love Note logo

I further developed my logo for the trailer 'Love Note' poster. This idea of the V forming into a heart and a pencil I thought to be a great combination as the pencil or pen is the match making tool.

There's less of a combination of fonts compared to my first logo. This allows the V to stand out and emphasise it's meaning to the logo. The font is also bold and modern so to provide a sense of the time the film is taking place.

I'm still considering in using the other logo for something else but I'd like to use this one for the trailer poster.

Drafting and Planning Trailer Credits

I took a snap shot of inserting the credits sequence in the trailer, just to see how it goes. I'm very happy how it appears so far on the trailer, but just some colour alterations are needed to improve.

Love Note Trailer Planning: Editing and arranging the introduction

One of the most complex scenes in the trailer so far is the beginning where Carla enters school so to give the impression that her school days are often chaotic but predictable to her.

I gave various attempts to edit this scene. In this clip I decided to repeat the same scenario so to give a sense of her routine being very repetitive.

I really liked how this looked, so I decided to do this again but 4 times over.

I also added a transition that may not appear to obvious, but demonstrates the chaos of her school mornings. I decided to take advantage of the sheet of paper that hits the screen, which then reveals another clip which continues this scene. I was inspired to do this by the trailer in "Scott Pilgrim VS the world", where a passing man is used as a transition between clips.

Using Adobe Premier- Planning and Editing my Trailer

I've so far managed to edit the clips, included transitions and background music for my trailer.

The timeline allowed me to navigate the order of my clips, insert music, effects and transitions, keeping track of the length of each shot as well as allowing me to shorten and lengthen them.

The bar on the left shows the various clips I've imported. This allowed me drag the clip I like into the left window, then the edited result will be displayed in the right window.

Any transitions or effects I want to use I can drag and drop into the timeline from the effects folders. This has allowed me to blur, dissolve or change the coloring of the clip and much more.

The audio mixer has allowed me to adjust the volume of the clip- from background sounds to foreground sounds. This has proved really helpful for me to turn down any distracting noises like heavy wind and cars.

Researching into Background music for Trailer

1, 2, 3, 4 tell me that you love me more
The laid back acoustic music provides a upbeat, positive feel to even the most low times in the Trailer. I decided to include this song because of it's lyrics and the lively tune.

"One, two, three, four
Tell me that you love me more"
"Sweetheart, bitter heart now I can tell you apart"
"Those teenage hopes who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up to one little lie"

The song will be able to highlight the fast activity of Carla's life but also brings back to the genre of love.

Final 'Love Note' Trailer Script

Shot 1.

Amber: If I had someone, somewhere, writing my life on paper, no doubt about it they've had writers block for about [thinks]... 18 years. But now... I think they've gone and slipped in a twist into my uneventful life.

Shot 3.

Amber [Narration]: I’m Carla. I live a good, ordinary life... that seems to be pretty consistent. And most people in it just- sort of see right through me...Nothing seems to change. Nothing!

Shot 12.

Amber: So, one afternoon, something stood out to me, I’d say the winds of change.

Shot 24.

Amber: I found this very odd and very old notebook. X’s on every page.

Shot 25.

Amber [Narration]: I wrote two names of two people who seem to get along, who could possibly love each other.

Then behold- Cupid has struck!

Shot 30.

Amber: [Amber smiles proudly] Yep, that wasn't the only time I used the notebook.

Shot 33.

Student 1: Yeah, he’s Spanish.
Student 2: Who? The new lad?
Student 1: Apparently, but I wouldn’t say-
Amber: [interrupts. Quietly] Sorry, what was that?
Student 1: -He stayed there long.

[Amber faces forward to see Kavan entering the room]

Amber: [stands up shyly]H-Hi hi! I’m Carla, and your name?
Kavan: Estabon Hudiosichardo Montoi Deskroso Ramerez.

[Amber reacts then falls to the ground]

Shot 42.

Amber: [writes Estabon’s name in book] What comes around goes around I guess!
